We had a housewarming of sorts last night. It was an beautiful summer evening for a picnic.

Kirk and Seth arrived early and found themselves a country seat on the hood of Jason’s truck and kept Jason company as he grilled hot dogs.

Before too long, David and Rachel’s family arrived. Then the fun really began. We enjoyed a meal of hot dogs, potato salad, chips, and cookies.

Once Josiah was safely occupied, the adults began a game of croquet (or OK according to one of my nephews) as the two older nephews eagerly offered assistance.

In between turns, some people relaxed.

Others took on more challenging activities such as dueling with croquet mallets.

The bravest among us tried to balance their mallets on their noses.

But it seems as though the younger guests were more proficient. (Creative cropping and clever counting made this picture possible! )

I surrendered the camera for a moment or two, and this is what happened.

The evening ended with root beer floats, bike rides, and sunset walks. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family!
