Being a Blessing or Being Blessed?

I’ve been thinking lately about the blessings with which I am surrounded. I could spend hours telling you about them. I have a wonderful family. I have an amazing husband. I have a great church to attend. I have traveled to several countries. I have seen and experienced other cultures. I am blessed.
Lately I’ve been able to share some of my blessings with others. Last week, we took our pastor and his family out to eat. It was great to fellowship with them. Some might say that we were being a blessing to them. However, I felt more like I was being blessed. Spending time with godly people encourages me.
Yesterday, I spent the day with my sister-in-law and my 3 adorable nephews. My brother asked me to help out since it was his first day back to work after little Josiah was born. He would have told you that I was being a blessing. But as I spent time with my nephews, I thought again about how I was being blessed. I experienced the laughter of children. I got to hold a precious baby in my arms. I was able to spend time with the dear, sweet, lady that I am privileged to call my sister-in-law. I got to take these adorable pictures of David and Rachel’s newest gift from God.DSC_0031
You know, there are a lot of things in life that are that way. You can look at a situation and say, “I’m going to help them out. They really need it.” or you can look at that same situation and say, “Look at all the blessings I will receive when I serve others! What an amazing experience this will be.”
No matter how you look at it, be a blessing to someone this week! You never know how you might be blessed in return.

I’d love to hear what you did to be a blessing! Let me know in the comments!
Have a splendiferous week!

  1. Josiah is so precious! Isn't it great that blessings work in two directions?!

Hi everyone! I am so glad that you dropped by. So, tell me, what did you think of this post?
