Review – Bibleman: Combating the Commandant of Confusion

I was recently sent this Thomas Nelson publishers DVD to review.

This story presents Biblical truths as taught by Bibleman, a superhero in purple and gold spandex. When Bibleman and his team are visiting a church to do a program, a villainous cohort called Chaos shows up, along with his leader, the devious Commandant of Confusion (who just happens to use lots of large words). Can Bibleman and his team of Scripture-powered superheros win against such a formidable opponent? With God’s help, of course they can!

This DVD is definitely geared towards younger children. I would say that any child between 3 and 10 would love this movie. The quality is as expected for a live recording. Scripture is interspersed throughout the DVD, and children are asked to repeat Phillipians 4:13 with Bibleman. I really appreciated the clear salvation message at the end of the DVD. Bibleman uses the ABC’s to teach children about salvation.

A = admit that you are a sinner

B = believe that Jesus died to forgive your sins

C= choose to accept Jesus into your heart.

As a teacher, I loved the fact that this DVD uses large, vocabulary increasing words, and a lot of alliteration. So, even though kids are having fun, they are learning as well.

This DVD is something I would recommend if you have children who love superheroes. Check it out for yourself today.
