Easy Cheesy Alfredo Sauce

Yesterday my husband and went to the local community center/gym with my side of the family.  I spent 1/2 hour walking/jogging 2 miles on the treadmill, and then I played racquetball for an hour and a half.

So today seemed like a good day for this delicious, although calorie – laden, recipe!  Dieters beware.



1 stick butter/margarine

1 8 oz package cream cheese

1 cup grated parmesan cheese (I’m sure it would be delicious with fresh parmesan, but I’ve never had the extra money to try it.)

1 cup milk

Pepper to taste


Begin by melting the butter over low heat in a saucepan.DSC_1657

After thinking about where those zillion calories will go, add another zillion  the cream cheese. Stir until cream cheese is completely melted. Add milk and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle pepper to taste. (You could also add garlic at this point if you’d like.)

Heat until smooth and creamy, stirring frequently. (I use a whisk to get any lumps out.)


Look at that creamy goodness.


Serve over al dente spaghetti. Top with fresh (or in my case dried) parsley. Delicious with sausage, meatballs, or chicken. Carry a plate to husband who is busily working on college classes, and listen to him rave about how amazing supper was. Enjoy!
