Rolling with the Punches

Ok, so maybe there won't be any punches, but this is a post about rolling. You see, I was a manager of a Mexican fast food place for three years.
Here's proof. . .

Yes, we had fun at work! I made sure of that. Anyway, one of the things that I did hundreds of times a day was rolling. Here, let me show you, so that you can roll too!

Step 1: Plop the glop!

What? You don't call your food glop? What's wrong with you?

Step 2: Fold over the sides. (Or side if you like one end open. I like mine tucked closed on both sides, nice and snug.)

Step 3: Use the sides to spread the glop. (A taste of everything in every bite!)
Step 4: Flip the top, over the glop, and roll till you stop!
In other words, for the non-Suess-ish readers, fold the top of the tortilla over the "glop," and pull back. Then, roll over the tail.

Like this.

This may seem silly, but my husband was excited when I taught him. With practice, you can make neat burritos every time. Have fun rolling, everyone!

Edited to add: Heat the tortillas before you try this. I throw the whole package in the microwave for 1 minute.

  3. Do you warm them first? That's my problem - I wrap them, then they just sag back open. Poor me.

  8. This is great! with children it is a never ending battle to keep them closed. Otherwise, tears of sorrow are shed as the contents spill onto the plate!

  9. Now see, you make it look so easy. I'm pretty sure I can do it, so how come every time we get mexican fast food we get leaky burritos?
