My husband first introduced me to this recipe. It was a favorite of his while growing up, and has become a favorite of mine, as well.
It freezes well, so that you can make it ahead, pull it out, bake it, and serve it. It is a favorite with kids, and with busy moms!
1 lb. noodles (I use wide egg noodles, you could use whatever kind you want.)
1 1/2 lb. hamburger, browned
1 medium onion
1 tablespoon oregano
1 can mushroom soup
1 can tomato soup
1 4 oz. can of mushrooms, drained
2 8 oz. cans of pizza sauce
1/2 lb. pepperoni
1 lb. mozzarella cheese
Cook noodles and drain.
Fry hamburger with onion, oregano, salt and pepper to taste.
Add soups, mushrooms, and pizza sauce. Mix well.
Grease bottom of casserole dish.
Layer noodle mixture and pepperoni. I generally use about three layers of noodles, and two of pepperoni.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Cover top with cheese, and bake until cheese is melted.
