Bulletin Boards

Originally posted on September 29th 2008.

This board is always my most challenging to do. First of all, it takes a minimum of 15 pieces of border because it is so long. This means that most of the time, I use either paper cutouts, leaves, tinsel, or whatever else I can dream up for the border. Occasionally, I have divided it and used it as two smaller boards. Anyway. . . this month, you can see what I did. The leaves each have the following poem. . .
I am special.
I am me.
I can be anything,
That I want to be.
Then the students wrote what they want to be below the poem. Their names are on the back and they are having lots of fun guessing which one belongs to which student.

This is my student work board. I decided to focus on penmanship this month.
Here is my outside board. The slogan is "Don't be scared of compound words!"
Each scarecrow has the two separate words written on the inside of their arms, and then when you put their arms together, you can see the compound word.
I made a decision to try to decorate my door every month also. I actually was pretty excited with how this month's turned out.

Let me know if you have any brilliant ideas for me to use! I love creative thinkers!
