No-Bake Cookies

These yummy, fudge-like cookies were always a favorite in my growing up years. In Ukraine, we frequently made them without the peanut butter (it was impossible to buy peanut butter there), which made them less rich and more gooey.Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup milk
3 cups oats
3 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla

In a sauce pan stir sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa. (For peanut-butter cookies omit the cocoa.) Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for one minute. Remove from heat and quickly add peanut butter, vanilla, and oats. Stir until evenly mixed. Spoon onto waxed paper. Let cool. Enjoy!

I made a batch of peanut butter no-bakes, since my husband doesn't care for chocolate. . .

. . . and two batches of chocolate. I took them to school today for my students to enjoy, and shared some with my bachelor brothers on the way home.

This recipe is quick, easy, and fun. Try it out!
