Jason and I like to buy in bulk, and then separate food into smaller portions. Today, we heard that there was going to be a grocery auction in the next town over. I had never heard of such a thing, but we decided to go and try it out. Here's a list of what we got. At the end, I'll post the price.
18 lb. pork roast (We ended up getting this for 82 cents/lb. We will be dividing and freezing this. It will make about 4-6 meals for us.)
8 lb. corned beef roast (This was also less than $1/lb.)
36 oz. bacon
15 lbs. potato wedges
8.75 lbs. cheese sauce
6 cans of Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
1 gal. honey mustard
10 lbs. dry rub meat seasoning (This was added to the roast. I don't know how in the world I will use it all!)
15 cans white kidney beans
3 lbs. Country Crock spread
8 lbs. grapefruit sections
#10 can of mandarin oranges
Bucket of 250 gum balls (for my students)
Anyway. . . we were thrilled to get this $137 value for a little less than $60. I think that we will be going to the grocery auction again sometime!
