Friday's Fifteen . . . U

Okay, so it's late. If I would have posted this on Friday, it would have been eleven things instead of fifteen. I had a brain freeze.

1. Uniqueness - I am thankful that we don't have to all be cookie cutter images of each other. We have different ideas, looks, philosophies, and lives, but we are all loved by God so much that He sent Jesus to die for us.

2. Umbrellas - I was especially thankful for one today when I walked the block in the rain to get my mail.

3. Ukraine - my home away from home. I have learned to love so many aspects of this beautiful country.

4. Unicorns - Ok, so maybe this is a little strange, but when I was younger I loved to draw horse, but unicorns were just so much greater. They fit in well with my active imagination.

5. Undying love - You know, it is truly amazing that God loves us through it all. I have done a lot that I am not proud of, but He is still willing to forgive me and love me anyway.

6. Understanding friends - You know who they are. They are the ones who listen without telling you what to do most times, but when you really need to hear the truth, they are there to tell you.

7. Unbelievable stories - like the one from my classroom this week about the three year old boy who shot an intruder in the leg. "I had to defend my family!" Ummm. . . a little far-fetched. I wish that I could remember all the details for you.

8. Unusual foods - some I am more thankful for than others. Have you ever tried a salad made of green onions, boiled eggs, and mayonaise? How about sugar cookies filled with carmelized milk? They are both great!

9. Unity - The older I get, the more I appreciate it. It makes work, church, and life so much better.

10. UPS - I know that email is great, but it is not nearly as special as getting a good old-fashioned package in the mail. One package can turn a week around!

11. United States - Although I am truly thankful for Ukraine, as I stated above, my loyalty and allegiance belong to the good old U. S. of A.. This country has many faults and failures, but I am proud to be an American.

12. Upside down cake (pineapple) - The first time I made it after Jason and I were married, Jason told me that he didn't like it. Then, he tried it. Since then, he hasn't ever complained when I made it.

13. Underdogs - I'm not sure what you call them, but they are when someone pushes you so high on a swing that they can run under you. I remember times at the park where Dad would go down the line giving us all underdogs. His sore arms made for some amazing memories.

14. Uncles - I am blessed with lots of amazing uncles. I won't list them all, but they are all special!

15. Upper teeth - Yeah, I know this one is a little weird, but I just had to come up with something. Besides, what in the world would you do without them. I can't imagine.
